Driving in Virginia

Virginia's strongest concentration of notable driving roads lies in the western half of the state, where the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains create repeated climbs, descents, sweeping ridge sections, and narrow valley routes. Skyline Drive follows the crest of the Blue Ridge through Shenandoah National Park, while the Blue Ridge Parkway continues south from Rockfish Gap through wooded mountains and high overlooks.
