Connecting Queenstown and Wanaka, this is the highest main road in New Zealand. The southern ascent features a fierce, stacked series of incredibly tight switchbacks scaling the mountain face. Once at the summit, the road opens up into a fast, sweeping descent through golden tussock landscapes, making it a highly dynamic and rewarding drive.
