One of the toughest and steepest paved roads in Slovakia (Route 549). Connecting the Gemer region to the Spiš region, this road climbs from Krásnohorské Podhradie over the Volovské mountains with gradients reaching 16%. It is famous for its 'endless' sequence of tight hairpin turns near the village of Úhorná, making it a classic stage in the Rally Rožňava.
